Below is one example of an open style

awning that I did. First tearing down the old and replacing with new redwood.

The new and better awning. By cutting the top boards on a 30 degree angle it creates more shade while allowing rain water to fall off.

Eventually this house was painted and this awning was painted the trim color of the house.
